'Our first priority has always been safety of our team members and our guests. We've spent the last several months putting tremendous resources behind our plan called 'Play it safe Live!' which is based on guidance from local and state health officials as well as the (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention),' General Manager Anthony Faranca said.

Upon entering the casino, all guests get a temperature check and get scanned on an infrared camera. Hand sanitizer and wipes are readily available and social distancing measures are in place. Slot machines are strategically closed to allow for distancing, and plexiglass partitions separate customers from each other and staff, and everyone has to wear masks.

'We know at Maryland Live! that the great experience starts with piece of mind, and I think that's what our guests are going to find when they come visit us,' Faranca said.

The casino has implemented a phased reopening. They opened for card members only 10 days ago, and just a few hours into the public reopening, people said they welcomed the safety changes.

'It doesn't really make it worse. Its OK. It actually makes it look different, and I like it. It's still hard to win, but that's OK. It's just for fun,' patron John Lee said.

'It's good that they separated the machines the way they did because the spacing is very important,' patron Bob Alexander said.

Right now, some restaurants are open for dining or carryout, but they will slowly all reopen, as well as the hotel.

'We're not concerned about the revenues -- safety absolutely has to be our first priority. We consider that an investment and not a cost, and we look forward to welcoming back all our guests,' Faranca said.

With limited capacity, if you want to ensure a spot, you can make a reservation online.
